In Memoriam - Stan Grenz
1950 - 2005
The Regent community on campus and around the world was greatly saddened
by the news of the sudden death of Stan Grenz early morning of March 12, 2005—just
24 hours after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. Stan was 55. He will
be sorely missed by his wife, Edna; son, Joel (Jennifer) currently studying
law at UBC; and daughter, Corina (Chris Cuban) a teacher, currently on maternity
leave with Stan’s granddaughter, Anika. Edna Grenz continues to serve
on staff at First Baptist Church, Vancouver.
As a leading evangelical scholar, Stan was based in Vancouver, teaching at
Carey Theological College and commuting to Mars Hill Graduate School, Seattle.
Known as a prolific writer and lecturer, Stan will be greatly missed by alumni,
students, colleagues and friends throughout the world.
