Accommodation
Although Regent has no residential facilities of its own, accommodation can often be arranged within the UBC campus environment. The Admissions Office may also be able to help arrange subletting of apartments and/or houses. Should accommodation information be helpful, please indicate on the Request for Information Form. It will be your responsibility to follow through on the information we send and to make all final arrangements.
Medical Insurance
Due to the high expense of medical fees in Canada, all students coming to Regent from outside of Canada are strongly recommended to acquire their own short-term private medical insurance.
Community Children’s Events
Regent is located near a variety of facilities which offer supervision and entertainment for children, from newborns to age 18. Parents are responsible for making all arrangements, including payment. Please note that these groups are not affiliated with Regent College. We are simply offering general information which is correct at the time of printing of the Spring and Summer brochure (January 31st, 2008).
Daycare
Westcoast Family Information and Referral provides referrals to licensed and registered childcare programs for children ranging in age from newborn to 12 years. In addition, it offers referrals to various family resource programs and child development activities and programs. Please note that although these facilities are licensed by the Provincial Child Care Facilities Licensing Board or registered with the Vancouver Child Care Resource & Referral and comply with BC’s Community Care Facility Act, referral to them in this brochure does not imply a recommendation from the City of Vancouver or Regent College. For information, contact Westcoast Family Information and Referral, or phone 604.709.5661.
UBC Activities
Regent is located on the campus of the University of British Columbia (UBC). Every summer the UBC Sport Camps offer a variety of programs for kids ages 3-17 taught by qualified instructors. Last summer’s programs included soccer, hockey, tennis, multisport adventure camps and more.
