New Faculty Announcement2011-05-04 Regent College is pleased to welcome Dr. Iwan Russell-Jones as Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Head of Christianity and the Arts Program. Dr. Russell-Jones, an award-winning filmmaker, theologian, and writer, will join Regent College on August 1, 2011. The Passing of Harry Robinson2011-04-08 We are sad to report the passing of The Rev. Dr. Harry S.D. Robinson. Harry Robinson was a long-time friend of the College and served on the Regent Board of Governors from Fall 1991 to Fall 1997. He was also the first chaplain of our Anglican Studies program from 1996 to 2004. Regent Professor of Church History Don Lewis worked closely with Harry Robinson over the years and has written a tribute to his life. Regent College Announces No Tuition Increase2011-03-15 Regent College President Rod Wilson announced today that tuition fees will not rise for the upcoming 2011-12 academic year. This will not be a common move among North American graduate schools and seminaries; at a time when many ATS schools are raising tuition between 2 and 10 percent annually, this is a major departure for a leading theological school. Introducing the Conway Holy Land Travel Bursary2011-02-08 Dr. John Conway has generously endowed an annual bursary for research and travel to the Holy Land for Regent College students. The bursary is intended to foster inter-religious dialogue and understanding of the region's past and present and will be awarded to students interested in promoting a more peaceable and just future for this deeply troubled part of our world. Packer, Julie Canlis, Alister McGrath and Christopher Wright. The Passing of Dr. David Lam2010-11-22 We are saddened to hear of the passing of David C. Lam. Dr. Lam was was a good friend of Regent College, and played an instrumental role in the original campaign for the current Regent College building. Change of Faculty Appointment for Dr. Ross Hastings2010-11-09 At their October 2010 meeting, the Regent College Board of Governors changed Dr. Ross Hastings's faculty appointment from "Associate Professor of Missions Studies" to "Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology." Appointment of Dr. Diane Stinton2010-11-07 The Board of Govenors has appointed Dr. Diane Stinton to a full-time position as Dean of Students and Associate Professor of Mission Studies, effective January 2011 The Passing of Dr. Clark Pinnock2010-08-18 We are sad to learn of the passing of Canadian theologian Clark Pinnock. Dr. Pinnock was associate professor of systematic and Christian theology from 1974 to 1977 at Regent College and a frequent teacher during our summer term.

Regent Alumni Launch Apologetic Forum2010-07-28 On July 12th a group of recent Regent alumni (Ben Edsall, David Benson, Jeremy Kidwell, Jessica Hughes, Matt Gray, Matt Mattoon and René Breuel), together with prof. John Stackhouse, launched an apologetic blog called Wondering Fair. Doing The Truth In Love: An Evangelical Call for Response to Caritas In Veritate2009-08-24 In his third encyclical, Caritas in Veritate (Love in Truth), Pope Benedict XVI invites deeper thinking about economic life, and in particular about economic development in the context of globalization. Sixty-eight evangelical leaders from four continents have released a statement responding to the encyclical, including including Regent College professors' Paul Williams (who helped draft the document) and John G. Stackhouse, Jr.. Paul Stevens Interviewed on "The Spirituality of Canoeing"2009-08-09 Paul Stevens (Regent College Professor Emeritus of Marketplace Theology and Leadership) was recently interviewed on CBC's Tapestry program on "The Spirituality of Canoeing". Based on an essay Paul wrote called The Song of the Paddle, he outlines four reasons why he believes that canoeing is a spiritual experience. The essay is included in Northern Lights: An Anthology of Contemporary Christian Writing in Canada. Paul's interview begins around the 35 minute mark of the program. Darrell Johnson Accepts New Position2009-07-03 Darrell W. Johnson, Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Regent College has resigned from his full-time post at the College to accept the call of Vancouver's First Baptist church to return to pastoral ministry. He will assume the position of Senior Minister at First Baptist September of this year, but will continue to teach one class per semester at Regent College for at least one year. Rod Wilson's Term as President of Regent College Extended2009-06-16 The Regent College Board of Governors has "with unanimity and enthusiasm" offered Rod Wilson a five-year extension (beginning in August of 2010) to his term as President of Regent College. The students, staff, faculty and Board of Governors of Regent College are very grateful for Wilson's dedicated leadership and service to the Regent community, and are delighted that he has decided to accept this third term. Regent Student Accepted as Ministry Fellow for the Fund for Theological Education2009-05-12 Regent student Kristopher Walhof has been accepted as a Ministry Fellow for the Fund for Theological Education. Ministry Fellowships provide financial support to enhance the formation of ministerial leadership for second-year seminarians. Students must be nominated by the dean or president of their seminary. Ministry Fellows participate in a Congregational Leadership Intensive and attend the FTE Conference on Excellence in Ministry. Congratulations to Kristopher! Regent College Tower Receives American Institute of Architects Award2009-05-11 Architect Clive Grout and artist Sarah Hall have received the prestigious Design Merit Award for Sacred Landscapes from the American Institute of Architect for their work on the Regent College True North wind tower and Lux Nova photovoltaic art glass. Bob Derrenbacker Named President of Thorneloe University2009-05-08 It is with a mixture of joy and sadness, congratulations and sorrow that we announce that Bob Derrenbacker, Regent College associate professor of New Testament, has been appointed as the President and Provost of Thorneloe University, an Anglican institution federated with Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. Promotion of Rikk Watts2009-03-27 The Board of Governors of Regent College is pleased to announce that Dr. Rikk Watts has been promoted to the rank of full professor of New Testament.
