Charles R. Ringma

Professor, Missions and Evangelism
BD (Reformed Theological College, Australia), BA, MLitSt, PhD (University of Queensland)

Charles Ringma has been teaching at Regent since 1998 and brings a breadth of experience in urban missions and spiritual theology. As the founder and first director of Teen Challenge in Australia he developed drop-in centres, services for homeless youth, counselling programs, and therapeutic Christian communities for clients with drug dependencies. Also during that time, he was a consultant to government and community-based programs and was a clinical teacher in the Medical School, University of Queensland, specializing in social medicine. Prior to coming to Regent he served on the faculty of Asian Theological Seminary in the Philippines for six years. He and his wife Rita are part of the neighbourhood ministry of Grandview Calvary Baptist Church in East Vancouver and have four children and four grandchildren.
