Bruce Hindmarsh

Bruce Hindmarsh has a broad interest in the history of Christian spirituality and a particular research interest in evangelical spirituality. He has published and lectured widely on the early evangelical movement in the age of John Wesley and Jonathan Edwards, and he is the author of John Newton and the English Evangelical Tradition and The Evangelical Conversion Narrative The recipient of numerous research awards, he has been a participant in the Young Scholars in American Religion program and the Wabash Consultation on the Teaching of the History of Christianity. Most recently, he was a Mayers Research Fellow at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California in the summer of 2005. A lay member of the Anglican Church of Canada, he and his wife, Carolyn, are also alumni of Regent College, and they have three children: Bethany, Matthew and Sam.
