Maxine HancockProfessor, Interdisciplinary Studies
and Spiritual Theology

BEd, MA, PhD (Alberta), DHum (Hon.) (Trinity Western)

Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Spiritual Theology, Maxine Hancock is also an author, conference speaker and broadcaster, with appearances on Vision TV and the CBC. Her books, which have been translated into seven languages, include Gold from the Fire: Postcards from a Prairie Pilgrimage, Christian Perspectives on Gender, Sexuality & Community (editor), The Key in the Window: Marginal Notes to Bunyan’s Narratives, Harpur vs. Hancock: Challenging Viewpoints on Faith and Ethical Issues, and Readings in Biblical Hebrew (co-authored). Maxine’s leadership in communicating the Christian faith in Canada has been honoured with numerous awards including the Leslie K. Tarr Lifetime Achievement Award for Christian writing and the Leading Women Award in Communications and Media. Maxine has held several distinguished guest lectureships, and has spoken widely throughout Canada and internationally. Maxine and her husband, Campbell, now live near Canning, NS, spending their winters in Vancouver, where she continues to teach and supervise theses at Regent.
