Prior to his appointment at Regent in 2003, Bob Derrenbacker served as Associate Dean and Assistant Professor of New Testament at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto. In addition to writing a number of articles, essays and reviews, Bob has written one monograph, Ancient Compositional Practices and the Synoptic Problem, and is working on two others, one on the Sayings Gospel Q and the other on the “New Perspective” on Paul. Also a priest ordained in the Anglican Church of Canada, Bob additionally brings to Regent valuable pastoral and teaching experiences. He is an avid Mac user, fan of U2, and downhill skier. Bob and his wife, Cindy (also a Regent faculty member), have two children, Chloe and Jack, as well as a chocolate Labrador Retriever named Charlie.
