Prior to his appointment at Regent in 2003, Bob Derrenbacker served as Associate Dean and Assistant Professor of New Testament at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto. In addition to writing a number of articles, essays and reviews, Bob has written two monographs: Ancient Compositional Practices and the Synoptic Problem and What are They Saying About Q? His academic interests include the composition of the Gospels, Pauline literature and theology, the Historical Jesus, the social, economic and political backgrounds of the New Testament, ancient literacy and book production, and the portrayal of Jesus in modern film. Also an ordained Anglican priest, Bob additionally brings to Regent valuable pastoral and teaching experiences. Bob and his wife, Cindy, also a Regent faculty member, have two children, Chloe and Jack.
