Position Description
The Vice President, Finance and Administration is a member
of the senior management team of Regent College, serving on
the President's Cabinet along with the Vice President, External
Relations, the Academic Dean, and Dean of Students.
Under the authority of the President, the Vice President, Finance
and Administration is responsible for the long range planning
and daily operations of the non-academic administrative systems
of the College.
As a senior administrator of Regent College, an evangelical Christian
institution, the Vice President, Finance and Administration is
expected to be in agreement with our Statement of Faith.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- An accountant with a recognized professional designation
and with a minimum of five years related experience in a senior
financial role, preferably in not-for-profit organizations.
- Strong technical GAAP knowledge for non-profit organizations.
- Experience with Ceridian payroll and Microsoft Office, plus
working knowledge of relevant Acts and Statutes governing
financial operations, taxation, payroll, human resources,
and records management.
- Experience with Datatel software is an advantage.

Duration: One year, 14 hours per week
Reports to: Accounting Supervisor
Preamble
The Regent College Finance Office exists to:
- provide complete, timely and accurate financial reporting
for the President, CAO, and Finance Committee
- provide accounting support to other Regent departments
- ensure efficient and effective processing of accounting
systems
- maintain good cash flow management
Duties
- process and deposit payments
- accounts payable processing and cheque issuance
- maintain petty cash
- record bookstore daily summaries
- allocate copier usage and metered mail charges
- maintain, bill and reconcile staff personal accounts
- reconcile credit card payments and student account refunds
- assist with the preparation of tax slips
- undertake specific tasks assigned by the Accounting Supervisor
Requirements
- knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts
- 1 year related experience
- working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- understanding of and desire to support the mission and goals
of Regent College
- Preferred:
